As you become aware of the toxic chemicals in your environment, it seems like everywhere you turn there is something that could be contributing to your illness. You feel vulnerable, afraid, and helpless. People do not believe you, so you feel as if you are alone. As you are awakening out of your previous ignorance about chemicals you begin to realize how little you still know. You start making changes. Some you feel make a dramatic improvement in your health, some make you feel even sicker (which you never thought was possible). This was my story. This is my story.</p>

Well, filtration can be combined with the ventilation system to remove airborne pollutants such as mold spores and pollen from the incoming air. Or, it can be combined with a forced-air heating/cooling system to filter out pollutants released by low-tox interior materials into the recirculated air (e.g. lint from cotton upholstery or drapery materials). To depend on filtration to do everything &#8211; without using the principles of eliminate, separate and ventilate &#8211; is difficult to do. Such a system will need to be very effective and very powerful; meaning costly-to-install, expensive-to-operate, and noisy. While affordable, room-sized filters are available, but they are just that &#8211; room sized. They aren&#8217;t designed to handle more than an average-sized room with the door closed. And even these work much better if you&#8217;ve implemented the other principles first. The bottom line is this: Filtration is most effective at removing the pollutants that remain after you&#8217;ve implemented the other three principles.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that the air inside HVAC ducts will be breathed by the occupants. Therefore, a duct&#8217;s interior should be considered living space. So, a tight structure should also mean tight ductwork to prevent pollutants from outside the ducts (e.g. those found in the attic and crawl space) from entering them and ultimately affecting the occupants. It&#8217;s also important that the interior surface of the ducts be inert; so, for example, don&#8217;t use ducts lined with raw fiberglass.</p>
<p>Mechanical ventilation is best used for pollutants resulting from human metabolism (e.g. carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane, water vapor, etc.) and for occupant activities generating moisture (e.g. bathing, laundering clothes, and dish washing). Most houses need two types of ventilation. Local ventilation should be used intermittently to reduce humidity levels in kitchens and bathrooms quickly, while general ventilation should be ongoing in order to change the air in the entire house. Certain activities, such as hobbies which generate their own pollutants, need to be dealt with as well. Sometimes less-toxic materials can be substituted, as when an artist switches from oil paints to water colors, but it&#8217;s often necessary to use additional local ventilation in a hobby room.</p>
<p>Although it&#8217;s usually more effective to pick the right pollution-reduction method for the job, you can certainly use one of the principles of separation, elimination, and ventilation to deal with pollutants originating from any source. For example, you could deal with formaldehyde outgassing from kitchen cabinets by coating them with a sealant. This would be a form of separating the source (the cabinets) from the living space by placing a barrier (the sealant) between the occupants and the source. But, in most cases, eliminating the source is more effective. You could also try to rely on ventilation to deal with all your indoor pollution problems. However, you&#8217;ll probably need a more powerful ventilation system; one more costly to install, more expensive to operate, and probably noisier than if you used the principles of separate and eliminate first. <p>This study shows that the weight loss was two times greater than the weight loss reported among individuals who use medications. Also the soy group registered a considerable lower cholesterol level and a reduction in their blood level of triglycerides while there was no change among those in the milk group.</p>
<p>Dr Anderson’s conclusion was that soy protein is very effective at lowering cholesterol but the milk-based shakes are almost as effective for weight loss and also better tolerated by many people.</p>

<p>It’s not recommended to do such a diet for more then 3 to 7 days, because they are unbalanced and are not meant to be a permanent way of eating. But if you feel like, do so, keeping in mind that Atkins Fad Diet changes after the first two weeks, so look it up closely first.</p>

<p>Another helpful piece of advice is one that concerns your mood and comfort and not your body or health. Try avoiding having dinner or any other meal with your friends when they are not keeping a diet also; you’ll find yourself in a bit weird situation if they eat their heads off and you must eat something very tiny. It is recommended to avoid these situations and eat at home, preferably alone.</p>
<p>Usually it can happen to get very hungry during that time and considering that you are devoted keeping your diet, try drinking a cold glass of water; it will be helpful keeping away the hunger pangs.</p>
<p>After finishing the crash diet, don’t start celebrating the end of dieting with food, otherwise all that effort will be in vain. Continue to eat keeping a balanced diet once you are done with the fad one.</p>
<p>Fat diets are well known about their promise of bringing some instant weight loss.  First of all you should pay your doctor a visit before starting any diet, especially a fad one, because these diets are not among the ideal ones concerning balance between loosing weight and preventing health issues.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, legumes are all words you may think to yourself what is that? Well they are the support system of your body. Fruits and vegetables have lots of phytochemicals in them and you can get about 100 different phytochemicals per serving of fruits and vegetables.  What are phytochemicals? Well the most commonly known phytochemical is the antioxidant. Antioxidants help to protect our cells from toxic substances and free radicals. You want to keep your cells strong for the long haul of life ahead.</p>
<p>Cholesterol. Yes we all have it and no we don’t want to have to worry about it. Well unfortunately we all must in this day and age worry about our cholesterol. A good way to lower your cholesterol is with oats. Just by eating three grams of soluble fiber a day, the same amount found in a large bowl of one hundred percent oat bran or three packages of instant oatmeal, can lower your LDL cholesterol by at least five point six percent in six weeks. That is an awesome decrease in LDL cholesterol and can save your life.</p>
<p>Do you know what is in your food? Did you ever think about what could be there and not there? How about what it is doing to you or your loved ones? Is there something good in your food other then making you not hungry? Yes there is! Your food is consisting of several awesome parts. Try looking at your food differently now. Try looking at it as a challenge and a conquest for better health and life. We laugh at vegetarians, but why? They are very healthy and happy. Vegetarians are getting more of the daily recommend dose of vegetables and fruits then the meat eating population. They are also getting more of the phytochemicals that help fight off the viruses that are in society today.</p>
<p>Still worried about your cholesterol and hate the thought of oatmeal three times a day? Try cooking with olive oil. If you are unhappy with the flavor of olive oil the try canola oil. Both are a great source of monounsaturated fat; A great reducer of cholesterol. Other sources of monounsaturated oils are Peanut oil, Walnut oil, Sesame Oil, and Soybean oil. What ever you do though do not, I repeat, do not go overboard with any oil. They all have fourteen grams of saturated fat and one hundred twenty calories per tablespoon. Lets face it we are an obese society; we need all the help we can get to not add extra fat to our bodies.</p>
<p>Did you know the benefits of Nuts? They are surprisingly good for your heart. Macadamia nuts are the best for you as far as monounsaturated fats go. Walnuts are the lowest on the scale for monounsaturated fats. Apparently replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fats found in nuts reduces your risk of heart disease.</p>
<p>Omega three fatty acids found in fish oils are superb at lowering blood fats such as triglycerides. Omega three fatty acids also help reduce blood pressure and may ease the symptoms of arthritis. You should eat fresh fish two to three times a week, however do not take fish oil supplements with out talking to your doctor first.</p>
<p>Vitamin E, is the great protector. Vitamin E helps to fight cancer, heart disease, and cataracts. Now that is one tough antioxidant! Spinach! I know why Popeye ate his spinach, because it is a powerhouse in the antioxidant family. Not to mention it has every nutrient out there. It is a great source of folic acid, which can reduce the risk of neural tube birth defects. It also protects against cervical displaysia which is a condition that precedes cervical cancer. Women! You must eat your spinach. Women who eat spinach daily are forty three percent less likely to suffer from a stroke, then those women who only ate spinach once a month or less. Now I don’t care those numbers are hard to beat. Eat your spinach ladies and live long happy lives. Women you also need to eat your squashes, which are high in beta carotene.  Those of us who eat fruits and vegetables high in carotene reduce our risk of cataracts by thirty nine percent.</p>
